West Lancashire
Our Ofsted-registered children's home.
Providing a safe, nurturing and supportive home for children and young people, where they can thrive, achieve and build a brighter future. Here is how we meet each of the Children's Homes Quality Standards.
1Quality and Purpose of Care
Regulation 6
Individualised residential care in a safe, nurturing and homely environment.
We develop personalised care plans, provide consistent routines and support each child's identity, confidence and independence.
2Children's Views, Wishes and Feelings
Regulation 7
Child-centred advocacy and support to express choices.
We listen through key-work sessions, house meetings and feedback opportunities, ensuring children's views are valued in all decisions.
Support with education, school attendance and personal learning development.
We work with schools, virtual school teams and education professionals, help with homework, attend meetings and support access to suitable education and training.
4Enjoyment and Achievement
Regulation 9
Recreational activities, hobbies, sports and community participation.
We create individual activity plans and encourage participation in local clubs, sports, arts and cultural activities.
5Health and Well-being
Regulation 10
Support for physical healthcare, emotional wellbeing and access to specialist services.
We support GP and dental appointments, healthy eating, exercise, personal hygiene and, where needed, access to CAMHS and other health professionals.
6Positive Relationships
Regulation 11
Building positive relationships and supporting family contact.
Our staff model respect and patience, support emotional development, manage conflict and facilitate appropriate family contact in line with care plans.
7Protection of Children
Regulation 12
Safeguarding, risk management and protection from harm.
We maintain individual risk assessments, follow safeguarding procedures, prevent missing from care and work with police, social workers and other agencies.
8Leadership and Management
Regulation 13
Strong governance, skilled staff and continuous improvement.
Safer recruitment, regular supervision, staff training, quality monitoring and review of care practice to improve outcomes for children.
9Care Planning
